I don't have many details of the various monuments and statues, but did take a photo of the sign at the entrance for reference. Adjacent to the park is the 7 story Longhua Pagoda, one of 16 remaining pagoda's in Shanghai.

Sunday, Ray took a walk through Century Park near the hotel he is staying at. The park is about 350 acres in size and contains a small lake used for paddle boating and fishing. There is also a river running through it on which you can rent electric boats. there is a small amusement park within the park. All sorts of bikes are rented in the park, from standard 2-wheelers to tandem and triple in line bikes. They also rent two person and 4 person surreys. The paths that allow the bikes can get very crowded with people and bikes competing for space.
Just outside the entrance there was a girl dressed in a Mini Mouse costume letting people take photos with her. After the photos, she would open her purse and ask for donations. For sure, this was not a Disney approved photo op, or pre-marketing for the opening of Shanghai Disney in a couple of years.
The park is filled with all sorts of different plants, trees and shrubs, grouped into various areas. Most items are marked and identified, so it is interesting to see the different types of plants growing. 
As I left the park, I saw a sign in front of an apartment complex requesting people to stay off the grass. That is not so odd, but it gave the reason to stay off was because the grass was crowing. Whether or not it should have been the word growing or crowing, (hey everyone--look at me, I'm growing), the grass must have been proud
